Timothy Everest Fine tailoring

Boxing clever

A film for Timothy Everest Bespoke Autumn/Winter 2011 by Joshua Osborne.

The gloves are off.

Bespoke tailor Timothy Everest has teamed up with Graphics student and videographer Joshua Osborne to create a fashion viral that makes Raging Bull look like Pauline Calf.

To showcase Timothy Everest's bespoke work, which remains the creative core of his Spitalfields-based business, Osborne has conceived a short but powerful narrative, filmed in stark black and white with a plangent piano soundtrack, that follows two boxers – one in a striking Everest diagonal-stripe single-breasted suit, the other in a punchy pinstripe double-breasted – as they prepare for the sharpest fight of their lives. The look, the feel, and the clothes serve to conjure the milieu of the 1940s British boxing scene, when glamour, guts and glory ruled the ring, and the Queensbury Rules held sway.

The viral was Osborne's Final project at Chelsea School of Art, and it earned him a First.

Osborne and Everest; an assault on the senses. A feast of clobber. It's most definitely a knockout.
